STEEL MAGNOLIAS

Truvy’s Beauty Shop is the centre of all gossip in Chinquapin, Louisiana.  Its regular customers represent the “anyone who’s anybody” of Chinquapin from the town’s former first lady to its premier socialite. First written as a coping mechanism for the death of playwright, Robert Harling’s mother, Steel Magnolias explores themes of love, life and loss as six women show strength in the greatest of adversities.

Steel Magnolias is the first show of IpSkip Productions 2018 season and is directed by Nathan Quadrio, director of our critically successful 2017 seasons of Willy Russell’s Educating Rita. This production features the acting talents of Lisa Simonetti (Beauty and the Beast, Flower Children) as Truvy, Rose Vallen (The Producers, Pippin) as Ouiser, Cate Rogers (Death of A Salesman, Holy Day) as M’Lynn, Julie Quick (All My Sons, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf) as Clairee, Georgia Broomhall (Fame, Catch Me If You Can) as Annelle and Casmira Hambledon (Violet, Les Miserables) as Shelby.

IpSkip Productions is thrilled to be presenting this all-star cast in this heart-warming play at the Bakehouse Theatre – Mainstage between January 10, 2018 and January 13, 2018. All tickets are $18 and are available now!
